Application Characteristics
• Can be applied by brushing, rolling, or troweling on any surface requiring waterproofing, including bare concrete, precast concrete, lightweight concrete, and rough tile surfaces without the need for a primer.
• Suitable for use throughout the home—rooftops, balconies, floors, walls, bathrooms, concrete water tanks, swimming pools, and earthen bund areas. Surface Preparation
• Clean the surface thoroughly, ensuring it is free from dust and oil residue.
• For cracks or deep holes up to 3 cm, repair with Beger Repair Mortar.
• Smooth or glossy surfaces must be roughened with coarse sandpaper.
• For areas affected by mold or algae, scrub clean and apply Beger MouldFree M-001, then allow to dry for 24 hours.
• Lightly moisten the surface before applying the waterproofing product.
Application Instructions
• Mix Beger Flex Shield 2K at a ratio of 3.6 : 1 by weight, or Part A: 18 kg with Part B: 5 liters. For best consistency and performance, pour the liquid component first, followed by the powder in two increments.
• Stir with a low-speed drill (400–600 rpm) for approximately 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. Let it rest for 1–2 minutes to allow full saturation.
• Apply by brush or roller while the substrate is still damp. Achieve a thickness of >1.0 mm per coat. It is recommended to use Beger Fiber Mesh to reinforce adhesion at wall-joint areas. Allow 3–4 hours to dry before applying the second coat.
• Apply the second coat in the opposite direction of the first. Allow 3–4 days to dry before use or before tile installation. Full curing is reached in 28 days.
Additional Recommendations
• Glossy surfaces must be sanded with coarse sandpaper prior to application.
• When mixing, always add Part B (liquid) first, then add Part A (powder) in two portions for optimal performance.
• Use a low-speed drill at 400–600 rpm and mix for no less than 3 minutes.
• The total thickness of two coats must exceed 2 mm.
• Use the mixture within 1 hour after preparation, or sooner depending on weather conditions.
Storage
• Store in a dry area free from moisture and avoid excessively high temperatures, which may degrade the product.
• Shelf life is 1 year from the manufacturing date when unopened and stored in a dry location.
